The Galloway Hoard Coaster - Gold with Brooches

The Galloway Hoard contains the richest and most varied range of Viking-Age objects ever discovered in Britain and Ireland. This recycled leather coaster is embossed in silver, and is based on one of the largest brooches in the collection – a design of four beasts, intertwined with vegetation, from the 9^th century.
