About Nagula Jarndu:
Nagula Jarndu (Saltwater Woman) is a not-for-profit organisation led by seven Yawuru women directors and supported by over 150 Indigenous women members. They began in 1987 as a resource centre to preserve Yawuru language and culture and, over time, we have transformed into a vibrant arts and textiles centre.
With a strategic focus on social enterprise, they're all about empowering Aboriginal women to produce unique, handcrafted textiles featuring motifs and colours from the Kimberley’s unique environment. Nagula Jarndu artists engage with the wider Arts community and shine at events like the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and Revealed in Perth, plus many other exhibitions across Australia.
