Born: England 1937
Studied: Fine Art, Hornsey College of Art, London 1959-1962
Arrived in Australia: 1962

James, a marine Artist, lived in Townsville, North Queensland, for 10 years during which time he travelled extensively throughout Northern Australia collection subject matter.

James arrived in Sydney 1972 and continued to paint country subjects included Sofala and Hill End. He travelled through the Murray River counter collecting information on paddle streamers and river craft. These paintings are traditional in character and record a past era. More recently, the artist's painting are reflections of Pittwater and the Hawkesbury Riber.

His works are in the possession of collector world-wide.
